Chump change

This is a true story. Its not made up. Its real comical too.

I have always liked money. When I was young I thought I was rich when I had lots of quarters and dimes. Even then though I knew it was not just about the amount of “coins” I had but the value of the coins themselves which would add up to a total.

Still it was fun to take that 3 foot long blue plastic crayon bank I had and take it around the room beating it on the floor to make a huge pile of money covering the floor. Those coins were mine.

My family knew I liked money. You probably do what my family did to me as a kid. You give your kids some coins, some chump change every now and then. Like you take your kid to a uncles house or the like and he would give your kid(s) a bit of change. Nothing much but at that age its soooo cool to get some coins and you come to expect it.

Every time I would go to my uncle and aunts house I would get change usually when I left. My uncle would go in his laundry room and get those coins that were on the dryer or washer and give them to me.

One time he gave me some coins. My mom then told me “Austin, What do you say?” and being the smart kid that I was I said “Got any dollars?”

Its still a joke we talk about today at dinners and such. 100% true. I hope you have enjoyed this story and got a laugh or too out of it. Be sure and pass it on! -Austin Z
