Eckerds has a sale but not really

So a local Eckerds in my state had a going out of business sale. My mom just had to go into town to go to this sale. Signs were all over the building and when you went inside all over the place too. It screamed “SALE” “SALE”…..70% on some or most items.

I went along as the rest of the family went. Just for fun you know? I like getting away from the farm and getting out and being around people. Well I started looking as did my dad and we found out real quick this was nothing short of a scam. We should have complained. It was not a sale but a MARKUP everything and pretend your loosing money when in fact you might be making the same or more type sale. Okay so they had taken off all the price plates on the shelves and replaced them with stickers on each item.

This sale had been going on for I guess a week before we went there as a lot was gone in the back. Most medicines did not look to be marked up and still had the price plates on the shelves. Medicine may have been the only thing not marked up.

Over the period of time the sale had went on not only had they marked up prices as it started but DURING the so called “SALE” the prices were again marked up. When I got my dad over to see the MARKUP on the big pack of toilet paper we could not help but laugh. They had stuck a sticker on top of another and the old one was CHEAPER than the new one. What a sale……

My mom got some lipstick and my sister got something like shave gel or something. The lipstick my mom said was cheaper than other places but even it was marked up with individual stickers on all the hundreds of them they had left in the store.

What a sale. Just know that just because it says sale does not mean it is one!
